Seniors Assistance Center
The Seniors Assistance Center (SAC) office is located in Norridge, and serves the senior population of the Village of Norridge, the Village of Harwood Heights, and the Unincorporated Norwood Park Township in Illinois. The SAC was organized in 1975 by civic minded residents who assessed that a growing need for services to persons 60 years of age and older existed. It was incorporated as a non-profit organization on May 17, 1976.
The center was created to provide age-dependent services and to provide assistance in securing age-related services from the federal and state governing bodies for those 60 and over, living within the above listed communities. Although some of the provided functions have some social aspects to them, the organization's intention is to provide needed services to the communities. Other organizations within our communities provide the senior with social activities and interaction.
The revenue to run the organization comes from the yearly monetary contributions from local municipalities, from federal and state agency grants, from corporations, private foundations, individual donations, and a number of fundraising events throughout the year.
We offer a variety of services to the 60 and over seniors in our communities either in conjunction with state and federal aging agencies or as a SAC provided service.
