Seniors Assistance Center

Advisory Council

Mission Statement

The mission of the Seniors Assistance Center (SAC) Advisory Council is to gain input into the needs, reactions, and desires of the senior community (those 60 and over) living int the Village of Norridge, Village of Harwood Heights, and Unincorporated Norwood Park Township, to speak about and promote the Center's available services and products within the community, and to share the community's pertinent needs, reactions, information, and desires with the governing board.


Purpose

It is the purpose of the SAC Advisory Council to gain input into, to assist in guiding, and provide support to the community by securing community reaction(s), sharing ideas, suggesting new programs or events, and relating pertinent information to the SAC Board of Directors.

Requirements

The Council is open to anyone who has an interest in the senior community with emphasis on the need to have the majority of participants 60 and over. It is a volunteer position, does not receive compensation, and requires a two year commitment.

Members are asked to:
              Have an awareness of the existence of and the functions performed by SAC.
              Disseminate information on services provided by SAC to the community.
              Participate in senior appropriate proceedings with the community.
              Recommend potential future services, products, events, etc. to the SAC Board of Directors.
              Attend quarterly meetings.
              Assist in planning and implementing specific Advisory Council events.

The Council meets quarterly on the fourth Thursday of the scheduled months of January, April, July and October t the Seniors Assistance Center at 9:30 a.m.
